Engagement Party Invites & Extras

When my dear friends Krissy and Jimmy got engaged, I was tasked with bringing something that each of them love into creative for their engagement party. Krissy is a HUGE music lover of all genres and Jimmy has collected Nike Air Jordan shoes for as long as I can remember. Krissy selected one of her many favorite artists, Frank Sinatra and that helped set the tone for the entire event. Her dad even hired a Frank impersonator to perform for the night! This project was a unique challenge bringing two completely different themes together, but “I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption…I did it myyyyy waaaayyyy”.

Medical School Graduation Invitations
Graduation from college is a pretty big deal that’s worthy of a party upon completion. However, the commitment, time and dedication that my friend Domonique put into her undergraduate studies, medical school and residency is worthy of a CELEBRATION. I am so unbelievably proud of this woman’s accomplishments! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to recognize this major achievement with her in Florida, but I was able to create a beautiful invitation and announcement suite for her fun, celebratory weekend. I started this project by bringing her vision for a customized RX pad into a save-the-date design. She wanted all the pieces to flow together using her favorite flowers, Hydrangeas as inspiration for the lavender color palette then further complimented with gold details and of course her gorgeous portraits! For the announcement, her mother requested something that could be shared via e-mail and social media so, I brought the print design into some digital graphics that she could share easily with friends and family. Congratulations, Dr. Weathers!

Kayley + Steve
Wedding Creative
Kayley and Steve are two of my closest friends so naturally, I was happy to help with a few details of their wedding. Their wedding and reception venue "Birch" set the tone for the invitations they had created so, I used that imagery paired with vellum to elevate the look while remaining consistent with their chosen aesthetic. I hand-lettered their seating chart on clear boards to echo the sheer look of the printed pieces while allowing the mix of wooden architectural details of the venue to serve as the background. The creative was additionally carried into digital screens throughout the venue as well.

Jaclyn Millici
Senior Photos
Jaclyn, is like a little sister to me so, when she asked me to take her senior photos I agreed of course! We had a lot of fun walking all over Milwaukee looking for the perfect backdrops.
Can you guess where these photos were taken??

Ellie + Alex
Wedding Creative
Ellie is a friend and co-worker of mine that I met while working at The Rumpus Room. She was a bartender and manager, I was a server. It was only natural that when she was planning her wedding, that her favors would be something beer-centric! We worked together with our reps at Boelter to create a custom pint glass for her and Alex to give to their guests. Her goal was to have this graphic compliment her wedding colors and invitations that were sent out to guests. We also used the graphic to create a custom Snapchat filter for her wedding day.

Ashley + Jake
Wedding Creative
Ashley and Jake are high school sweethearts and good friends of mine. Rumor has it, that they actually liked each other long before high school so, this wedding had been a dream for quite some time! Upon wedding planning, Ashley came to me for a graphic that could be used in multiple capacities for their wedding. Initially, she wasn’t one-hundred percent sure of the placement for said graphic so, the goal was to create a badge-like emblem that was simple enough to be printed on a variety of materials. One of Jake and Ashley’s favorite places is Yosemite National Park so, she wanted to incorporate that into the design. Their sweet dog Miley was also an important design element crucial to this piece. The graphic was used for a can Koozie take-away for their guests and printed on a beautifully, rustic guestbook that now hangs in their home.

 Helen + Stu
Wedding Creative
Due to my background in hospitality, design and photography I am often asked to help friends with their weddings, engagement parties, showers, etc. When my childhood friend Helen reached out to me, she was facing a much greater challenge than any of the others that I have helped in the past. Due to Covid-19, I watched my dear friend have to take her 200 person guest list down to 30 people (that 30 included staff). Her baker just stopped responding to her, her venue had to cancel, I was watching her face one nightmare after another and it was absolutely heartbreaking. So, I jumped in and helped out in an area I know very well! I made various signage, but this was the first time that I helped coordinate the food, beverage and service as well. It ended up being a really fun wedding and the newlyweds both looked absolutely stunning! My favorite creative to make was the “Spread love, not germs” tags on the hand-sanitizer take-away.
Is there really anything else to give your guests at a 2020 wedding??

Aubrey Turns One
Family Photos
My family has a ridiculous amount of birthdays from the end of February through the end of April. Easter at Grandma's house each year has historically involved both an Easter egg hunt and birthday cake. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the youngest member of our birthday crew wasn't able to celebrate her first birthday, but we were able to safely capture some photos of this sweet one-year old! I may be biased, but my nieces can make toilet paper look pretty dang cute!

Elizabeth + Justin
Wedding Creative
I met Elizabeth working as servers together at The Rumpus Room so, when she wanted some creative made for her rehearsal dinner that would take place there, I was on board! She also needed signage for her wedding as well. For her creative, she showed me the hand-lettered aesthetic she was going for and I tied that look together cohesively from rehearsal dinner to wedding. This project was really different than my day-to-day design. It involved doing hand-lettered chalk boards and manually adding a gold emboss to her signage to achieve the look she wanted. She used gold accents throughout her entire wedding so, the embossing really added an extra sparkle.
